This is our main Link. John Lincoln Levins that is.
Link has been the pit crew/Endurance Crew Chief for Panther City Racing since
the beginning. Actually, his involvement with me goes all the way back to 1971
when I first started road racing motorcycles. I was living in an apartment in
Dallas, Texas and used the garage at his home in Garland to prepare my Kawasaki
triple for my first roadrace. We used his truck to haul the bike to Dallas International
Motor Speedway (and to haul the pieces back).
I've known Link since 1965 when we met at the parts counter of Standifer
Chevrolet in Hillsboro, Texas, his home town. We were both attending Hill
Junior College and were heavily into street racing cars and drag racing.
Through all the years, the wives, the kids, the jobs and the other assorted
vagaries of life, Link has remained one of my true friends. Although he
is not a motorcyclist, and has no real interest in becoming one, he has
been an invaluable resource to me and Panther City Racing. His meticulous,
although sometimes tedious to the point of wanting to throttle him, attention
to detail was instrumental in our success in the 1996 Endurance season.
Thank you Link!
