Zion National Park was
already getting crowded by the middle of June. We did find that getting
there around 0800 seriously reduced the traffic and congestion, but the
main park is still too busy for a contemplative ride. As we crossed it
west to east, we happened upon a couple of other motorcyclists, one on
an HD with the obligatory loud pipes. As we slowly made our way through
the 1.1-mile-long tunnel about a quarter of the way through the park,
this fine fellow seemed to have trouble with his engine. I guess it
wasn't carburating quite right as he had to keep pulling in the clutch
and revving it up every 30 seconds or so. If there hadn't been so much
traffic, I would have stopped and offered to help him tune it
properly...
