Sipapu Bridge is the largest of the three bridges in the National monument. It was formed by countless floods that shaped and smoothed it with the rocks and sand they carried over thousands of years.

The scale of these formations isn't apparent until you start to close in on them. The dome of the United States Capitol would almost fit into Sipapu.

Wind Sculpture
It never ceases to amaze me what wind and water, over time, can create. I can't imagine a sculptor creating something this majestic, with such flowing shapes, on this scale, except "the hand of God".

Another example of the fickle effects of wind and water. Almost as if the child of a giant had taken a scoop out of the packed sand in his colossal sand box.

In amongst the sere browns and grays are scattered stunning colors left behind by different elements that were dissolved during the eons of water erosion. I'm beginning to understand where Walt Disney got the idea for The Painted Desert.
