Pottery The museum has the largest
display of ancestral Puebloan pottery in the Four Corners. We were particularly
fascinated by the triangular pottery on the bottom shelf of this cabinet. The museum is quite
fascinating with some incredible displays of pottery, basketry, tools and jewelry. The fairly well
preserved feather clothing is outstanding. I had never considered weaving feathers, with
their insulating quills, into cold weather gear. |

Puebloan Village Ruins
This village was occupied from 750 AD ~ 1220 AD and has been well restored.
Visitors are allowed in certain areas of the ruins and are encouraged to climb
down the ladder into the kiva. There are very strong feelings around this particular
ruin, predominately of carefree and laughing children. |

Ancient Astronomers?
Dedicated on the 1998 June solstice, this sculpture by Joe Pachak is titled Sun Marker.
This work of art-science is based on studies of the interactions of light and shadow
with rock art. Pachak is a knowledgeable rock art scholar, especially of American
Southwest rock art. The piece is oriented North-South and the continuous change of
the sun's light playing through the carefully planned and crafted cutouts is mesmerizing.
